Telling Tales in the Tipi. (Located in Longmont, CO)
All classes are taught by industry professionals and can be taken individually or as a full professional development series.
Each class consists of a 3 hour hands on workshop/lecture combo followed by lunch (provided by ThinkBannedThoughts) and then an additional three hours of personal writing time in the garden or tipi.
All that for only $95 per class!!

April 14th, 2012 - Self Editing From the Base Up with Karen Albright Lin - $95
Learn why writing is rewriting, how to check your plot, subplots, points of view and your character development, how to check that you’ve woven in theme and motifs, stayed consistent with facts, and how to dig out those pesky bad habits. The last piece of the puzzle? Sales etiquette.
Students should come prepared with any of the below that are available:
1-2 page synopsis, longer outline if you have one
Short bio for each main character
Beginning 5 pages
Sample pages from your work – a few turning point pages from different places in your MS, your climax and the end
Karen Albright Lin is a freelance editor for multi-published and soon-to-be published authors. She’s a ghost writer and multi-award winning author of novels, screenplays, short stories, literary cookbooks, magazines and newspapers. She streamlined her approach to editing novels and nonfiction proposals with guidance from previous representatives: including top NY agents, Jane Dystel and Kathleen Anderson.

Get out of the slush pile with a winning query letter in this hands-on query writing and revising session. Polish your package and learn how to network in the publishing industry, from online to in person. You need to be able to talk about your book, too! Get the skills you need to make that sale!
Students should come prepared to pitch. No query necessay, we can start from scratch, OR workshop the one you've got.

Betsy Dornbusch's most recent book is Sentinel: Archive of Fire, the first of her urban fantasy series featuring a legion of demi-demons rebelling against Asmodai, King of Hell. Her short fiction has appeared in many print and online venues, including the anthologies Deadly by the Dozen and Tasty Little Tails. She also writes a space “operotica” series, Salt Road Saga, written under the penname Ainsley, the first of which is Lost Prince. The second book in that series, Battle Royal, will be released in late 2012. She's been an editor with the ezine Electric Spec for six years and is the sole proprietor of Sex Scenes at Starbucks where you can believe most of what she writes. She has read and helped revise hundreds of query letters. In her free time, she snowboards and air jams at punk rock concerts.
